lyrics

There's a place that I wanted to go
But I guess I don't want you to know
Where I'm going or hanging out
Why don't you try to find out

All my friends
They find me queer
They shy away, they're never near
I call out loud but do you hear
Maybe I'll live another year

Why's the world so condescending
And the people so demanding
"Sonny boy won't you throw away that knife
'cause I've found a friend who would lend a hand
To just put away your life"

Looking around at the outskirts of town
I got a date but you know I'm still the clown
'Cause I know that it's not love I've found
But you that have brought me underground

Pain is strangling me
Like the roots of my tree
Cab't you see
I just want to be free

There's a place that I wanted to go
But I guess I don't want you to know
Where I'm going or hanging out
Why don't you try to
Why don't you just try to
Why don't you try to find out
