lyrics

Here's the song you said I'd never write for you
Until the day I die
My heart laid bare for all the world to see
Though I tried to keep you by my side
Your mind is on some other guy
And every word I speak
Just comes out wrong

And I'll take you
Yes I beg you
And I'll make you every day
A love so high you don't ever want to come down

To the best of my intentions
You will have all my affections
I will let you in and throw away the key
Say goodbye to all your sorrows
Don't have to wait until tomorrow
It's such a lovely day to start a brand new slate

And I'll take you
Yes I beg you
And I'll make you every day
A love so high you don't ever want to come down

So here's the song you said I'd never write for you
Until the day I die
My heart laid bare for all the world to see
Can't you see?
